Established in 1971, King City Dirt Riders is a 120 acre non profit off-road riding club  featuring a motocross track, miles of trails, hill climb, and kids track. Located a short distance from Highway 37 in Mt.Vernon, IL.

“We started riding in 1970 and got a charter in 1971. The Hell’s Angels type was really prominent then, so when we wanted to lease this land, we came to a city council meeting in our suits with our wives and kids… “(Mayor) Rolland Lewis said, ‘You all were against these boys having this land. Stand up and voice your opinion.’ No one stood up. So he said, ‘Well, there you have it.’ We’ve been here ever since.”
